The APDS-9960 is an ambient light sensor with integrated ALS, infrared LED and proximity sensors and ambient light sensing (ALS). It uses a double photodiode to achieve an illumination of about 0.01 lux to approximate the visual reaction of the human eye.
It can work accurately under the large 1.0 mm air gaps without external insulation processing, which greatly facilitates the structural design of the customer. Its waiting state power consumption - 90μA typical value, sleep mode power - 2,2μA typical value, more energy saving;

The APDS-9960 is a serious little piece of hardware with built in UV and IR blocking filters, four separate diodes sensitive to different directions, and an I2C compatible interface. For your convenience we have broken out the following pins: VL (optional power to IR LED), GND (Ground), VCC (power to APDS-9960 sensor), SDA (I2C data), SCL (I2C clock), and INT (interrupt). Each APDS-9960 also has a detection range of 4 to 8 inches (10 to 20 cm).
