The BMI160 6-axis inertial motion sensor is packaged in a MEMS sensor and integrates a 16-bit 3-axis accelerometer and an ultra-low power 3-axis gyroscope.
The module can output acceleration data (acceleration value detected by the device in the X, Y, and Z axis directions) and gyroscope data (speed of the device rotating around the X, Y, and Z axes). When the accelerometer and gyroscope are running in full-speed mode, the typical power consumption is as low as 950μA, which is only 50% or less of the power consumption of similar products on the market.
BMI160 is specially designed for smart phones, tablets, and wearable devices. It has a built-in smart pedometer algorithm and can directly read the number of steps through a register.
The built-in 3-axis acceleration and 3-axis gyroscope can realize running, fitness and other sports detection. The module has a built-in LDO power management chip, VIN supports 3.2~6V wide voltage power supply, and also has a separate 3.3V interface, which is compatible with Arduino 3.3V and 5V controller direct drive.
Application scenario:
1. Walking pedometer
2. Acceleration detection
3. Inclination measurement
4. Display switch between horizontal
5. Vertical screen mode
